New Fluid Technology

As daily drilling problems are addressed, someone frequently comes up with a new and better solution to each one of these problems. The people at North East Mud Services Company are listening closely to the operators and drilling contractors in order to help them to find new and better ways to drill troublesome wells. NEMSco is always looking for better fluid products and fluid systems.

As in the page labeled "Foam and Under-Balanced Drilling", we have taken available drilling fluid products and developed a "foam mixture" that fully inhibits unstable shales. In the page labeled "Recovery of Caved Wells", we have taken an old steadfast mud recipe and enhanced it to accomplish almost impossible tasks. The people at NEMSco are looking elsewhere in the country- and throughout the world to find solutions to problems that exist here in the Northeast.

Stiff-Foam:
Although stiff-foaming is not a new science, drilling fluid product manufacturers are frequently coming out with new products. The people at North East Mud Services Company are continually working to perfect a mixture that will provide ease of mixing, superior shale inhibition and good hole-cleaning. We have developed a recipe that can be tailored to applications in various parts of the Northeast region. This stiff-foam mixture has yielded extraordinary results.

Aphron:
Aphron is the name of a tiny ball of air, water and oil. A new fluid system made up with concentrations of these aphrons is gaining notoriety in parts of the world today. This "no-solids" fluid has the ability to seal low-pressured, highly-fractured and faulted reservoirs without the use of lost circulation material.

In areas where drilling blind without returns was common practice, the Aphron fluid system from Masi Technologies has proven that a stable well bore with full circulation can be accomplished. This system may prove to be very valuable in New York where large fractures in the low-pressured Black River formation are often encountered.

NEMSco has introduced this system to a few customers here in the Northeast. Because the return-permeability tests show such superb results, there is a great potential for this system's application right here in this region.
