Not only does NEMSco provide all of the mud products needed for a successful and economical drilling operation, our mud-handling equipment is diverse. Specialized Mud Systems:
Certain sedimentary formations in the Northeastern US are nearly impossible to drill with the usual air-drilling techniques. New York has seen an increase in exploratory drilling to depths of 10,000' and deeper. The discovery of large gas reserves in the Black River formation has spurred increased drilling activities there.

Drilling to increased depths brings new challenges with water-sensitive shale formations that lie between ground level and the target formation. NEMSco prides itself in developing a very powerful formation-stabilizing fluid that will serve to keep the well bore in excellent condition while drilling the troublesome Vernon Shale. With the development of drilling in the Marcellus shale, we have gone back to our tool box to find a mud system that works best in this horizontal drilling application. A few years ago a new and revolutionary mud system was developed called Ultra Drill. NEMSco has used Ultra Drill on several holes to date. The increased success in drilling this troublesome formation has brought NEMSco to the forefront of Marcellus horizontal drilling.
